About these books:
These books aims to raise awareness among children about the challenges faced by their autistic peers, emphasising the importance of understanding that sometimes, autistic children require extra time to manage their emotions before engaging in activities. These books involve a short story, where the children can track Cupcake or Roar's emotions with an emotion tracker. At the end of the book, it includes a short activity on the children's own emotions and a breathing exercise to regulate their breathing as a relaxation technique. Available to purchase in hardcover from Lulu bookstore.

About the Founder: Emma Briggs
Emma is an accomplished and compassionate individual, known for her dedication to nursing, her role as a loving mother, and her fervent advocacy for autistic girls. Her life's journey has been marked by a profound commitment to caring for others, both in her professional and personal life.
Emma earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a sub-major in Paediatrics in 2004, which equipped her with the specialised skills and knowledge necessary to work with children. Her academic pursuits reflect her genuine passion for the well-being of young patients.
As a registered nurse, Emma has demonstrated an exceptional level of care and empathy in her work. Her focus on paediatrics has allowed her to make a significant impact on the lives of children, particularly those with special needs, including autism. Her years of experience and expertise have made her an invaluable resource for families in need of support.
Emma is a dedicated mother to her daughters (two of them who are autistic). This personal connection and lived experience has deepened her understanding of the challenges and joys that come with raising an autistic child. She has embraced her role as both a caregiver and advocate for her daughters and other autistic individuals.
One of Emma's most notable achievements is her strong advocacy for autistic girls. She is working on raising awareness about the unique needs and experiences of autistic girls and women. She uses her personal and professional experiences to educate and empower parents, educators, and healthcare professionals, striving to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for autistic individuals.
Emma's commitment to her advocacy work is evident in her recent completion of a post-graduate certificate in autism studies. This additional qualification allows her to deepen her knowledge and enhance her ability to support autistic individuals and their families effectively.
